It is offically summer. That means it is hot, humid, and the kids are soon going to start with phrases like: I'm bored; There is nothing to do, It's hot. You know how the chorus goes.
Well this summer I am going to try something new with our granddaughters; they are learning to sew. They each have a sewing machine, and the studio is nearly finished, about all that is left is lights. And today they painted their sewing tables, one is a pretty blue with her sisters purple handprints, and the other one is a pretty purple with blue handprints. Tomorrow we are going to take down a wall in the living room (one that we put up) and then it is out to the studio to sew.
Their first project will be a pair of jammie bottoms. The tops are always tee-shirts that is the easiet way to "make" the tops. I think that it may be a productive summer. I think it would be really fun for the girls to make an outfit to wear to school this fall. They are almost 8 and almost 10 and they have really good imaginations so the clothes should be fun.
Check our blog often to see how things are progressing. See you again real soon!!
